Hi, it's my last school years so that's just about time to choose university, and my question is; do you know any good musical schools in England?

In my experience, musical theatre is not as popular of a subject to study in England. Many courses offer overall "Drama" courses but you still have the opportunity to participate in musicals and take vocal lessons.

Here is a list of the top Universities in the UK for Drama and Dance.

If you ABSOLUTELY want to train to be a musical theatre actor/actress, then you should probably go to one of the drama schools rather than a university. Competition is stiff but it's the best way to get the proper training from a three year course.

The main drama schools for MT are in the London area such as Mountview, Arts Educational, Guildford School of Acting, LAMDA, Rose Bruford etc. etc. and that's not to mention the dance schools such as Urdang. Google them up and have a look if that's the kind of thing you're after.

The other option is to do post-graduate training after getting a "normal" degree. These are usually offered as very intense one year courses and they're not always looked upon with a great deal of respect by "the industry". The best one for vocals is undoubtedly the Royal Academy of Music's course but most of the major drama schools offer something similar. However, at least you have the security of another degree to "fall back on" if acting doesn't work out.
