Any advice on a new one? This one was a small GE...lasted about 5 yrs. Been lookin on Amazon, but what's with the prices? I only use it for soup, tea/coffee/ frozen veggies. Not much else. Is there nothing decent under 100.00? Any recommendations on anything between 50-80.00? Thanks.

Check Home Depot. In my area they have a GE 700 watt, 0.7 cu ft in black for $79. Higher wattages or larger capacities will cost more.

you can get a small mr. coffee coffee machine for $20.
use a tea pot for tea.
heat soup leftovers on the stove.
for frozen veggies, poach them in shallow water on the stove with some butter and salt and some minced garlic, preferably fresh, but you can buy them pre-minced. nothing you nuke will taste nearly as good.
just imho, unless you're gonna reheat meals like restaurant leftovers, a microwave isn't worth it.

I love my microwave! I lived without one for 2 years, and it was not fun. I don't know the exact model, but I got mine at Best Buy for about $70.
Look on Craig's List. You can get a used one for $20. Walmart has several for under $50 by Sunbeam and Rival.
I'll check, Jersey. Thanks, from the other (ex)jersey girl.

Target also has microwaves in the 50-70 price range. Get a coupon for $10 off of $50 purchase. I get in mail monthly. Also maybe able to get coupon from Target.com or coupon sites.

I got one at Target a few months ago for $45. The plate never stays when it rotates and sometimes I have to fix it, but it gets the job done.
Thanks everybody!
