My Reviews!!

I know...

Yeah, yeah, yeah....we shouldn't really care about what the critics think, but I couldn't help sharing the reviews for my current production of "Terra Nova."

If you are in Chicago, I hope that you have a chance to see this production, which runs Through December 18th, in the Stage Left Theatre space.

More details about the production can be found at my website:

Take Care,

Michael

THE CRITICAL RESPONSE:

"Director Brandon Bruce has assembled a terrific cast for this
Backstage Theatre production, particularly Michael Pacas as the lead explorer Robert Falcon Scott (who can say an awful lot with those startled stares)..."

Nina Metz, Chicago NewCity (Tip of the Week)

http://www.newcitychicago.com/chicago/3879.html

"It's hard to like a man who dehumanizes his men, and yet we do
like this leader of the pack. Pacas' Scott has the quiet confidence of a driven man burdened and fatigued by his godlike role. (The same pride and optimism that keep Scott from eating dog to remain alive in a 60-below-zero climate drive him to help the weak live long enough to suffer horrible deaths.)"

Lenora Inez Brown, Chicago Sun-Times (Recommended)

http://www.chicagosuntimes.com/output/theater/cst-ftr-terra18.html

"...a solid gripping drama about men battling nature and what it
means to be a member of a team."

Christopher Piatt, The Chicago Reader

http://www.chireader.com/listings/static/listings.html#119

"...this is a bleak, compelling and thought-provoking story told
by an excellent company that will leave you haunted and moved."

Venus Zarris, Gay Chicago Magazine (Three Stars - ***)

re: my reviews!!

I just had to bump this because I saw the show last night and WCA was remarkable. In fact the whole production was. What they were able to acheive in the small space with a small budget was amazing. If anyone is in Chicago you should make the effort to see this show. Congratulations, Michael, great job.
PEACE.

re: my reviews!!

Dear Sue!

Thanks for the bump, and for taking the time to see the production. I sent you a personal message.

We did get one more review, which I'm very proud to post:

"Michael Pacas, as Scott, does a heroic job with a heroic part, making Scott a man we root for ( even though we know the mission will end in tragedy ) and admire"

Rick Reed, The Windy City Times

I looked through my old theatre records and dicovered that I first read (and fell in love with the script 21 years ago. Scott is my dream role, and it will be very satisfying and sad when the production closes on the 18th of December.
