So, me and my girlfriend were supposed to go and see Moscow All-Star Ballet doing suites from Tchaitovsky (sp?). Well, I was held up at work and end up picking her up very late. I must have drove faster than Schumacher and we arrived at the theatre about 10 minutes late. We were hopping to be able to buy last minute tickets but the show as sold out. So, the nice lady told us about another ballet that was going on at the smaller theater in the complex. So, we said yes, not wanting to waste our trip.

We got tickets to see Ballet Theatre Afrikan's production called Window. I'm never a big fan of dance and the only reason that the girl was able to convince me to see the Moscow Ballet is because of the symphony orchestra that would be accompanying the ballet. Most ballet I've seen, I concentrate more on the orchestra. It's the band geek in me. Anywho, I thought Windows was an interesting piece. I don't have a clue what was going on, but the girlfriend pretty much told me that the story is about two couples and how a member of the relationship cheated on their partners and the other partners found out about it.

I enjoyed myself, suprisingly. The dancers were having fun and their performance shows it. The audience was also having fun and gave that energy to the dancers. I found out later on that most of the audience members were either a member of the company or was friends, family member. We were one of the few people that had no connection with the performers. The dance show is a mixture between ballet and modern dance.

Anyway, here is the link to the dance company's website:
