I used to live in Bath, and there was a cat who lived on my street. Not in a house on my street, just on my street. His owners moved away over a decade ago, but he came back. And ever since then, he's just lived on the street, eating whatever he's given, and hanging out with whoever passed by. I tell ya, he made Six Dinner Sid look like the amateur he is! Well, I received the sad news last week that he had passed away, and ever since then, people have been creating a little memorial for him on the corner where he used to sit. And now - the cat has made headlines!

I'm not kidding, he was even on the front page of one local paper. What a star. It just warms my cockles to see how much so many people cared for him; it really raises my hopes in human nature. Apart from a couple of bitter naysayers on the latter link, but we can't help everybody, can we? ^_^
I expect he's up, up, up at the heavyside layer...

I spent 4 months in England once, parking myself in Chichester, Hereford and the Wye River valley area, and I spent 3 weeks in Bath. Lovely town. I don't remember seeing the kitty though.
He was a big orange cat. Nothing of the Wee Thomas about him! (Although he did once get oil all over him and we had to shower him. Now THAT was an adventure... o_O)

"I used to live in Bath"
At first I thought that said, "I used to live in a Bath"
You'd think one would get awfully pruny, living in a bath.......LOL!
The Wee Thomas bit mad me giggle (just loved that show!)
