Phyllis many years ago, Chicago won some sporting title and when it happened I was on the Lawrence Bus. Pandemonium ensued and before long, crowds of people had taken to the street, shooting guns, screaming and climbing on the bus. I was completely bewildered and a little frightened. I asked someone what was going on and he explained "It's because the Bulls won."

I muttered "This must be what it was like on Halsted the night Sondheim won the Pulitzer."
