re: My new car

I heard today that new Sazuki's do payments of 169 dollars a month, a tad smaller than 15k, if you must go new that is.

My grandfather, who left us with a better legacy than money, gave me this advice. "Never buy something unless you have the cash upfront for it. That way you owe no one money"

re: My new car

My grandfather and grandmother worked hard too and left me a trust with quite a large chunk of money in it. But I used it for private catholic high school and now private catholic college. Pretty ironic considering my family is Jewish. But even if I DID have enough $ left over for a Benz, I'd get a smack in the head from SO many people in my family I wouldn't be able to turn my head enough to drive. It's a showy waste of money...buy a Honda. Or a '98 purple Neon, like me. Oh yeah...who's jealous?

I had me one of those too, judy. He used to switch the oil in his car and my grandmother's...and that was an "oil change". Or at least so he told me in one of his many "You don't NEED to spend money on that" stories.

re: My new car

As another person from a blue collar, redneck, borderline white trash family...why the hell couldn't I get a trust fund?

Of course it also feels pretty to work for what you have...

You remind me of those people who win the lottery and then are bankrupt two years later.
