Hi everyone two questions-

1. What are the main NY acting schools (graduate level) and which permit international students (preferably allowing video taped auditions)

2. Does anyone know where there are good programs in technical theatre (Stage managment, design etc)

thanks
Em

1.Tisch has a graduate acting program MFA, in addition to a graduate Design program. Here are links to their websites:

I'm not too familiar with the design program, other than it has a great reputation but I do know that the graduate acting program is one of the best in the country and extremely selective, only taking about 16-18 students each year. Video auditions are not possible. Auditions are held in a few cities in addition to NYC and then callbacks are invited to a weekend in NYC, when the final group will be chosen. I don't know of any MFA program which would allow a video audition. Most BFA programs won't even allow them anymore. Good luck.

Columbia also has an excellent Graduate School in Theatre.
