NYC Dwellers

I am in search of a new apartment in the city or Borroughs. I came across this website called NYC Dwellers. Has anyone ever used this apartment broker before?

Or can anyone recommend some form of Apartment/Rental website besides Craigslist (already have had a few scammers contact me) that might be worth checking into?

My husband and I used NYC Dwellers briefly when we were looking for an apartment last year. I was not particularly impressed with the broker we worked with through them. He was not at all knowledgeable about the areas where we were looking. Also, none of the apartments we liked on their website were actually available. We wound up going with a different broker after attempting to find a place without one.

A broker is not a waste of money if you simply do not have the time or energy to spend chasing down leads and trying to get apartment managers to talk you. However, as many people on this board can tell you, it is entirely possible to go it alone.
