NYC Thanksgiving Hotel Help

I know there have been previous posts, but not specifically in relationship to Thanksgiving. Most of what I find is damn expensive.
I will probably come in Wedns (Steve comes in Thurs I think)and we'll fly home Monday.
Any good cheap hotels you NYCers know of.....I like
the Gramercy Park area, I suppose somewhere near B-way would be good, just noisy

If he cannot get off drom work, I may come anyway.

re: NYC Thanksgiving Hotel Help

Stay out of Macy's on Black Friday as it is a madhouse

There is a small hotel which may be a Howard Johnson's on 34 th down the block ( towards 8 th Ave ) which may not be fancy but is probably low priced. Another is the Portland Hotel around the corner near the Palace Theater stage door . I have seen the rooms. they are small but centrally located near the theater district. i know they are inexpensive. Hope this helps

re: NYC Thanksgiving Hotel Help

I booked my NY trip last week and got a 143.00 a night rate for a eight night stay at a nice little hotel on Park Ave. south. I stayed there last year - and this year I booked a larger room cause when they stated "single" room, they meant it - but that same room is going for 253. to 305. a night for the holidays. Ho Ho HO! I guess when they know they got you - they get you.
