Posted: 8/19/05 at 10:02pmWow, that's really sad. I've always liked her and have often wondered why she hasn't become more of a "name" in Hollywood. Now, I know why.

I read that Jane magazine article by Michael Rappaport. I thought it was very tacky of him to go on a rant against his former friend in a national publication. He really painted a terrible picture of her through his article. He even had photos of the apartment and how she left it in the magazine. A personal problem with a friend, former or not, does not belong in a magazine!
How sad for her...those are MAJOR health problems for a young person to have.

not that rappaport isn't an a**hole, but to give him the benefit of the doubt, he might have been trying to shock her into seeing what a mess she was making of her life. when dealing with an addict, people try some crazy sh*t to get them to see what they are doing to their lives. maybe he thought that broadcasting her dirty laundry might get her to take a look at her life and realize she had to get her sh*t together. that kinda thing rarely works, but people without any real experience with addiction tend to think that the addict will see the light if they are just shown it in the right manner.
then again he might just be an a**hole.

Posted: 8/19/05 at 11:09pmpapa, I find it hard to believe that an out-of-control addict takes the time to sit down with a glass of cola and a cigarette to read Jane.

Posted: 8/19/05 at 11:17pmyes, rath, you're probably right because when one is mentioned in an article in a national magazine in such a manner as she was the only way one would hear about it, and thus be forced to in some way deal with (or at least hear about) the issues it raises, is by reading the article. yep, no one could possibly have read that article, called her and said, "did you hear what rappaport said?" i'm equally sure that no one in the industry read it. in fact it probably exists only here on bww.com. i take my post back, you've poked a hole in my faulty logic here big enough to drive a wide bodied tractor trailer through.

if she was as drugged up and out of it as reported, she probably wouldn't have given a sh*t to listen to anyone around her, much less spend the $3.50 on the magazine instead of drugs, so I doubt the article would have had an impact.
oh...and if she did read it...it obviously didn't have any kind of effect on her.

Posted: 8/26/05 at 6:54pmHas anyone heard any update on her condition? I just did a Yahoo search and came up with nothing except a story about her dad now suing the hospital for releasing her condition to the media.

Ah, who can forget the good old days when Lili Taylor had to request that Michael Rappaport stop, what's the term? Stalking her, that's it. And she got that helpful little, what are those things called? Restraining order.
So, if Natasha can detox, there's a long and tough treatment of interferon that clears hep C from the bodies of a decent percentage of people who have it. There is almost always some hope.

Is ANYONE else troubled by Lyonne's father's comments? He should stop the shoulder-shrugging and generic, immobile sympathy and DO something.
This kid is a drug death waiting to happen and the sooner those closest to her realize it, the safer she'll be.

Definitely. He obviously isn't involved in her life at all (who's choice that was, who knows) since he's finding all this out by reading an article. I mean, GO to the hospital and see your daughter. And now he's suing the hospital? Sounds like someone taking advantage of his daughter instead of trying to help her.
And the most important thing is that she got Hep C in Bulgaria? Hep C is most commonly contracted by blood to blood contact/sharing needles. Please don't blame your daughter's condition on another country. Your denial isn't going to help her. Sad to say, she got to be in her condition through choices she made. She needs help to realize her problem, and not excuses to aid her along.
