I saw this Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly suprised. I am not a Nick Cage fan, so I saw this against my will. But I was resonably entertained, and the movie didn't drag. All in all, i'd reccomend it as a good family flick with some cool history stuff thrown in.

I only wish Christopher Plummer was in it more.

Boycott Bruckheimer.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Because I like Western Civilization and I would like to see it not end.

I just boycott Bruckheimer because movies where the explosions have more personality than the actualy people don't appeal to me.

I'm not a Nic Cage fan at all (with the exception of "Peggy Sue got married") but this actually looks like a fun movie.

Fun in that "Stargate"/sci-fi/popcorn=sort of way....

If you let yourself suspend disbelief and go along for the ride, it IS a lot of fun.

Are there any theaters in NYC that offer DLP projection?

Typical Horrible Bruckheimer Crap. Explosions=distractions from wretched cage overacting and horrible scripts.

I really enjoyed it actually. Wasn't near as good as I heard it was going to be, but I thought it was well thought out.

"Wasn't near as good as I heard it was going to be"

Well, I didn't expect it to be life changing.

"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

Some movies are meant to entertain, not intellectually enlighten.

Oh, sure. I like stupid fluff as much as the next gal- you're talking to a Spongebob Squarepants fan here. I just don't find explosions, explosions, and more explosions to be particularly entertaining. To each their own.

ugghh..this movie does not appeal to me at all. I'm not a Cage fan, but I wouldn't avoid seeing a movie just because he's in it. But this one just seems a little too hokey for me..

explosions are cool though.

originally, I didn't want to go see it, becuase it didn't look all that appealing to me, but when I went, I was pleasantly suprised, and I really liked it. Parts were cliche, but for the most part, it was a very original idea. I thought it was awesome, and it's a definite family-ish holiday season movie.
