Just my personal opinion, I would go see Alvin & The Chipmunks. This looks very funny.
Are those your only choices?
Of all the great films currently in theatres, those should be at the bottom of the list to see.
So, of course, they make the most money.
Yup- I have seen those shows already except I AM A LEGEND... (My) Chris cannot stand Will Smith ..

You won't be missing much, jay. I was dragged to that last week. Incidentally, on Wednesday I'm being drugged to ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS (shut up, taz).
Chris love Alvin & the Chipmunk (the cartoons) as a kid ... I kinda wanna see National Treasure bec. of that cute guy- Justin Bertha ... I saw the 1st one and I really enjoyed it but I saw the reviews on yahoo-- its all C+ ......

I meant I was dragged to I AM LEGEND last week. Never seen any of the NATIONAL TREASURE films.
well, there will probably be a lot of kids on sugar highs at the chipmunks so go with nic cage.
Actually we saw Sweeney Todd at Randolph Cinema (suburb of Boston) my first time there- wow ...the seats are sooo comfortable....soo spacious...
If only Broadway theaters' seats were that comfortable!
Actually I love Sweeney Todd.. I just dont like as to why they dont have the Ballad of Sweeney Todd as a sung part....that Anthony guy looks like Sandra Bullock and the beginning is sooo computerized..but I love the production design...very dark...very Tim Burton... love it !!!!
Does anyone felt that "By the Sea" seems out of place with all the flow of production design which is dark...but I guess that's Ms Lovett's imagination...the switch was soo abrupt .. its like opening all lights in a pitch dark room..

Lots of kids there, too. When I saw SWEENEY last Friday, there was like a whole stampede of them going into that theater.
National Treasure = Rock
Alvin & The ChipmunkS = Hard Place
jay, I don't like how a lot of the numbers were staged, particularly "The Worst Pies In London" and "A Little Priest."
Wait - Xmas day?? Jaystarr, c'mon!
JUNO
THE GREAT DEBATORS
THE WATER HORSE
all opening tomorrow. All much better choices, more than likely.
I think Tim Burton is not a big fan of big Broadway production number...like ensemble...
he got rid of some of the ensemble part of Pirelli Miracle Elixir....which probabbly he wants to make it dark ..not over the top belting ....
I kinda like it... I can see what is he trying to accomplish....
I just wish they ended it differently.... like older toby in the asylum..but I guess he does not wanna do that....but again he got rid of that in the beggining too...Ballad of Sweeney Todd...btw- i love that song and I was disapointed not to hear it sung...
I waited till the end END credit..if they will sing it..

Don't see Alvin, I beg of you. That movie looks absolutely horrific.
jag, get on your knees. It's more effective.
Okay... I just printed the thread guys to show it to Chris....so he'll change his mind
Yay! were seeing National Treasures 2 ....
That's nothing to celebrate. It's still a lose/lose situation.
Rent something and stay home.

I actually laughed out loud at SM's comment.
Go see JUNO.
The first National Treasure was fun and entertaining. The second one was absolutely and completely implausible and ridiculous.
