I'm trying to write a story about HIV/AIDS for a scholarship thing but I'm having a hard time finding descriptions of what HIV/AIDS does to your body that is not written in such a technical language. While the actual effects of AIDS on the body are not really important to the story (The topic is to talk about how vulnerable people are to it), I would like to make it seem as if I know what I'm talking about. Anyone think they could maybe translate some of this scientific/medical language into layman's terms for me?

No, if you want the scholarship work for it and earn it on your own.

What a constructive suggestion, etoile.
Cruel_Sandwich, did you try a medical dictionary? Or someplace like Medline Plus?

Yes, I gave very constructive advice. The entire internet, to include medical sites, is at his fingertips just prime for the clicking.
on the other hand, most of what is on the internet is not verifiable........unless you know what to look for.
Go to the library, there are many things in laymens terms on AIDS

At the risk of giving you a shortcut, this is an incredibly reliable site. But you better not cut and paste, because you WILL get caught plagiarizing.
