All of my friends are obsessed to the point that they're already picking out their costumes for when they go see the movie... I know a girl who's dating a guy simply because his name is Edward.
Forks, Washington (a place I seldom go to unless I'm heading to the ocean beaches and sea stacks) has become a Mecca for Twilight fans. Unfortunately, when they arrive at Forks they are disappointed. The film wasn't even shot there because the filmmakers found the location unsuitable.
It would have been nicer had Stephenie Meyer used either completely fictional locations or based the story on real locations that the herd could identify from the book and film when they visit. "Oh, look, there's the school...bla bla bla" But then I doubt that Meyer could have imagined how successful the book would become. Sort-of an oddball phenomenon. As it is, it just looks like Meyer was too lazy to do the research.
"There's no place like Nome."
"Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Nowhere"
"I told that Wizard, thanks but no thanks."
"How can you talk if you haven't got a brain? "
"Oh the thoughts you'd be thinkin' you could be another Lincoln, if you only had a brain."
"You have no power here! Now begone, before somebody calls your boss and has you fired! "
"What's the difference between Toto and Sarah Palin?"
Toto has actually been out of the country.
