Hello everybody!
I've been tossing with the idea of having an MA in the theater field, and been seeking some information.
I got my L.L.B in law and have always been fascinated with the theater world. especially musical theater. I live in Israel and work as a flight attendant, so while studying law, I kept escaping to New York to watch broadway shows, and also took some acting lessons in Tel Aviv :)
Now, studying theater to become an actor might be fun but too late for me, because I'm lacking all the training that people who started at a younger age have (I'm 2
, so I thought of having an MA in Theater management or something alike, somewhere in Europe or the US.
Again, pretty clueless and have no idea where to start to seek information, so I hope I can get something to begin with here :)
Thanks!
An MA is a stepping stone to getting the PhD. Most people who want an MA are wanting the PhD. It better prepares you for it. You write a lot more analytical and critical papers. In some cases, you get the chance to teach more. It's basically gearing you, in the academic senses, of theater. I haven't heard of an MA in Theater Management? Maybe Google that. I've only heard MFAs in Theater Management. Also, one might be pursuing an MA just for leverage in acquiring a teaching job. It's a lot easier to get one at a college or university.
