Alright my wonderful Broadway Friends, I have to do a presentation on teen sentencing at adult court for commiting really horrific murders and stuff.
Can anyone recall I case recently, or even something from a television show that has anything to do with this topic? Or does anyone want to put their two cents in about it?
THANKS!
Oh sweet Jesus I love criminology presentations. When's it due? I'll be happy to help...once I've made my deadline.
Well, the intro paragraph is due in an hour. But the presentation/essay is due sometime next week.
Tiff, I love you~ but your icon scares the crap out of me.
Alex and Derrik King killed their father in Florida. Really interesting case.
Court TV
I can definitely help you on the presentation/essay (however I think a lot of my case law comes from Canada, so I don't know how much that will help you - my knowledge is universal though! -hehe jk).
Er...for your intro paragraph (nice job on the procrastination, btw, coming from someone in the know)...first talk about the implications of teen sentencing. Why should it be done? Why shouldn't it be done? Don't even just limit it to horrific crimes. Also consider crimes where it's a repeat offender. For example, in Vancouver, we had this kid who was 12 years old and he stole 60+ cars. And every time the cops caught him, all they could do was take him home. The kid himself actually told the cops he was untouchable until he's 14. The kid's a sociopath who knows the system - his crimes aren't horrific, but he won't stop stealing.
Oh yeah, there were also those two guys in Seattle who brutally killed one of the guy's parents for the insurance money. Cold hearted first degree murder. Double check on their ages - I'm pretty sure they were teens and tried in adult court.
Edit: LittleFish, you're the 20th person who tell me that about my avatar.
<--- This is what I looked like this morning.
GO AWAY! I'm SERIOUS!!!
Oh yeah. I just just leaving.
Good luck, LittleFish!
Thanks so much, and I know about the King case. They are the main focus of my presentation... :)
Look for the Seattle guys. This case was just in the news within the last two years. (Plus if you ask me more stuff, I can justify procrastinating on my paper a while longer.)

Tiff, should you not be doing your own asignments instead of someone elses? The clock is ticking! Tick tock tick tock tick tock
Yes Tiff, I appreciate the help. But do your own paper....
Mine is due on Wednesday!
Mine is due in 5.5 hours!
Oh, okay. I see your point.
You also might want to look into the case of the West Memphis Three...although they are probably innocent. Their story is in the documentaries PARADISE LOST and PARADISE LOST II: REVELATIONS, which you should be able to find at a well-stocked video store....mesmerizing, outraging story. They are still on death row and getting them out has become a national debate...
