Nellie McKay’s New Album: Oct 31

Billboard is reporting that Nellie McKay’s second album, Pretty Little Head, is finally coming out Oct 31. It’s been popping up on various music sites for the last month with different release dates and label information, but this sounds pretty official.

It’s a fun album...another double CD, not as “jazzy” (or as consistent) as Get Away From Me, but much more interesting than most of the big Top 40 releases this past month.

Yeah, that didn’t quite come off as the recommendation I intended.

My CD budget for the next couple of months is already shot: Nellie, Solomon Burke’s new album (which is flawless...you can stream it on CMT.com), Gladys Knight’s jazz album, the Tom Waits rarities set...good stuff.

Don't forget her other duet with k.d.lang!

This album has been floating around for quite awhile, and although it is different from "Get Away From Me" it is fantastic.

I think the album is worth it for "Columbia is Bleeding" alone.
