I downloaded a program that undeleted anything.
And what's up with you calling me names, DG/Q?

Don't mess around with your 'friend's' system.
If you did that in my home, I'd eviserate you.
But I'd do that to you anyway, just on principle.
Why do you make everything I do sound so seedy? 'friend's', for example.
He had a desktop full of his work that I got tired of looking at. There's nothing bad with moving it to its own file, clearly marked "L--'s Stuff". I didn't make the computer delete everything.
Do you have any helpful advice, DG/Q?

Oh, really? Because it's YOUR system?!?
Give me a break. You give narcissism a bad name.
You don't want suggestions, as you obviously live according to your own dictates. And LOOK where it's gotten you!
Well, for the record, I would not start messing with someone else's computer unless I was certain that I would "do no harm."
Perhaps there were short cuts on the desktop, and not the actual files. They are probably there somewhere, just waiting to be found.

Reformat the hard drive.
Why not?
Restore to factory settings always works for me, too.
