"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

I'm also looking forward to Across the Universe, but I'm not sure if that's actually coming out this year or not.

The only one that looks remotely interesting to me right now (I don't watch many movies) is DREAMGIRLS. But only because it's a musical. However, I'm not familiar with the story or any of the songs. I want to be surprised... pleasantly surprised. I'll probably end up watching one or two of the others, as well.

Well, I'm just counting stuff that's been filmed, because I trust in nothing until it's in the can, and sometimes not even then.

The Fountain
The Black Dahlia
The Science of Sleep
The Prestige
Dreamgirls
Happy Feet
Stranger Than Fiction
Spider-Man 3
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The History Boys
The Namesake

Zen Noir also looks really cool, but it'll probably be released in about 2 theatres. A definite NetFlix kinda movie.

As for announced but unfilmed stuff:
Where the Wild Things Are
The Golden Compass
The Giver

I can't bring myself to look forward to Sweeney Todd in its present form, so I'm just pretending it's not happening.
