Some called Joey Chestnut has dethroned last years winner of the Nathans Hot Dog Eating contest

He broke the record by downing 6 more than last year when he ate 59 1/2 dogs & buns. He could not finish the other 1/2? I thought these guys had big appetites

I believe Chestnut has broken the record set by Takeru Kobayashi,
but has not officially dethroned him yet as the official contest is held on July 4th at Coney Island. Chestnut just won the southwest preliminary contest that enables him to compete in the July 4th competition. Quite a feat nonetheless, let's see if Kobayashi can retain his title!
