Posted: 6/8/09 at 4:13pm
I'm planning a New York trip with 3 of my friends and we are wanting to see as many shows as we can for as cheap as possible. This is what we were thinking.
Wed Mat - Do our own
Wed Night - Hair
Thur Night - Next to Normal
Fri Night - Guys&dolls for 2 and August: Osage for 2
Sat mat - Do own
Sat night - 9 to 5
Any idea if any of these shows will have discount codes for them? Also, Any show suggestions? Thanks for helping.
-Joseph

Posted: 6/8/09 at 8:22pmBlithe Spirit and God of Carnage were both HILARIOUS, my friend and I got our tickets at the TKTS booth for those. Don't drop Next to Normal or Hair because those were INCREDIBLE! :)

Posted: 6/8/09 at 8:38pmHair had some back row seats left for $37.50 last week for those dates. I am spending that weekend in the city, too.

Posted: 6/8/09 at 9:03pmBoth Blithe Spirit and God of Carnage will have closed by then and or not back from the 6 week hiadus. I was thinking about those seats for Hair, I just don't know if they are any good. I'd love for us to have some interaction with the cast you know?

GUYS & DOLLS just announced it is closing Sunday June 14th.
Re: NEXT TO NORMAL - this is playing at what is just about the smallest Bway theatre, the BOOTH, and Row H of the mezzanine is sold for USD36.50. Sight lines are great, and since it's such a small theater, you are not all that far from the stage. Several people had said they favored these seats over rear or side orchestra. (I've seen it twice from there, and will be returning quite often.)

Posted: 6/10/09 at 11:09pmBBJoe - Just remember to bring your SHAMWOWS with you, 'cause NYC mid August: you're gonna be sweating your asses off, what with the temp, the A/C exhausts, the bus fumes, the bldgs, and the crowds. Have a good time (personal fans, a must!)!!!

Posted: 6/11/09 at 1:49amThanks thetinymagic2, I've been before in July but Still excited about this one. Plenty of summer clothes. lol, anywho, anyone know any east rushes? I heard Little Mermaid was easy and they give you great seats. I love Faith Prince and she is the only reason I would want to see the show. Any help would be wonderful.

Posted: 6/11/09 at 1:59amAugust is usually considered the beginning of the "slow season", so you should be able to get pretty good deals on most shows. Although there's always a few "hot" ones that perhaps are difficult to get, more often than not, if you're flexible, you'll probably score better seats in August than in Tony season or nov/dec. Good luck!

Posted: 6/11/09 at 2:38amAs someone who saw Billy Elliot last month, I can tell you that it's okay to skip it. Especially since cheap tickets will be impossible now. I would highly recommend In the Heights instead. Plus, you should be able to get a good deal on that one.
