Did anyone catch the funny moment in last night's national Spelling Bee? The word was "numnah", but the speller thought they said "numbnut" and even Tom Bergeron replied, "did they say numbnuts?".
I could see them using this in one of the touring productions of "Spelling Bee". They could use the word "numnah" or completely flip it around and actually use the word "numbnuts".
PANCH: The word is NUMBNUTS
SPELLER: Do you mean "NUMNAH" as in a felt or sheepskin pad placed between a horse's back and the saddle to prevent chafing?
PANCH: No numbnuts, "NUMBNUTS" as in a lack of feeling in one's testicles, or an ignorant person.
