I want to see a movie but I have no idea what to see! Reccomendations?
I haven't seen Borat yet. Maybe that?
Thanks

VOLVER is next up for me--you'll like BORAT if you're in the right frame of mind--I loved it....

Thanks lildogs.
TheatreDiva - This is no different than when someone asks what broadway show to see. And this is on the off-topic board! Unless you think a movie belongs on the main board I'm sorry!
I actually think I might like Apocalypto as well--even though I'm loath to lard Herr Gibson's coffers.
There's still alot of good choices here in NYC that I have yet to see: Little Miss Sunshine, Running With Scissors, JULES ET JIM is playing at Film Forum, For Your Consideration....

Little Miss Sunshine is supposed to be good. I think it was even IMDB's top 250 list, for a little while.

I forgot about For Your Consideration. I wanted to see that too.
I saw Little Miss Sunshine when it came out. It was fantastic!
I have a list of movies to see: Borat, For Your Consideration, Tenacious D, Dreamgirls, Charlottes Web, The History Boys, Night at the Museum. So I needed some opinions.
I think Tenacious D is going to be more for fans--so unless you're familiar with them, you might not like it so much

BIG fan! But I think I can wait until it comes on DVD.
Yeah, it's not like you're going to miss some great Sven Nykvist cinematography. DVD is fine...

I think I'll see Borat. There's something about a packed theatre of laughing people...when I saw Little Miss Sunshine the theatre was packed and the movie got applause. That's what i like.
I think any comedy is better with a crowd--you laugh more. Plus, you miss some jokes so that when you see it again, there's something new!

Borat is good but kind of runs out of steam.
For Your Consideration, on the other hand, is funny all the way through and really shows what a horrible sham the Oscars are.
I'm seeing Stranger Than Fiction next week.

TheActr97J - you felt the need to say that NOW? That's kinda dumb.

Yeah, The Holiday and Pursuit of Happyness are great! I would go with Pursuit of Happyness though. Really, everyone needs to see that.

I totally agree about the Pursuit of Happyness. I saw it last night, and it's an excellent movie! It helps us to appreciate what we have. Will Smith did a fantastic job! I would definitely recommend it!! Quite a tear jerker for some parts, but definitely worth every penny.
I also want to see Holiday. I hear its good. And Jude Law looks wonderful! :-p
Also want to see Night at the Museum with Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Robbing Williams, which looks hilariously retarded but funny all the way and Charlotte's Web looks good too. Taking my little cousins to see that one.
