thought of you while watching it Glebb

It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story... AGATHA CHRISTIE, Life magazine, May 14, 1956

re: Nicholas and Alexandra

and, it just never had to happen.
While watching it last night I formed an idea for a story/book of what would have happened had Nicholas not abdicated for Alexei and the new government allowed the Romanovs to go IF Alexie remained to rule in name only.

I know Alexandra would have gone crazy with the idea, but what if it was that or all die? Imagine the royal family living and growing up say in England had George V had the balls to take them. Or perhaps exiled to Switzerland?

It makes one wonder

Thanks Elphaba, I've thought about that as well.
I wonder how many of the daughters may have been carriers. How long might have Alexei lived?
It's just so hard to imagine any other ending.
I don't think I've seen that pic before and I have many Romanov books, even the rare Kschessinska bio.

Here's a pic of me in front of their home, the Alexander Palace in Pushkin (Tsarskoe Selo).
