Baz said he wanted to stage "Strictly Ballroom" and THEN put "MR" on the Boards...but last week a Poster noted that "MR" might instead be heading to Sin City Las Vegas instead
BOO HOO
It is screaming to be staged in NYC
I would go every single night
Nicole NO...Ulla YES...though we all bow to the box office requirement and the stunt casting...I still HATE the idea of this woman playing Ulla.
I'll get over it, I suppose...in fifty years or so
Even though I love MR and really enjoy Nichole in most everything she attempts, one things comes to mind... "Now ULLA Belt..." I love Nichole, but her little airy thin voice is not up to par with Cady Huffman... they will either 1. Cut the belt, 2. dub it over, 3. pull a Madonna and lower the key a fifth. Not my idea of quality casting when so much need be compromised. She'll probably act the hell out of it though.
I don't see it. Ulla needs to be warm, with an edge of being a 'not that dumb' blonde. I have never thought Kidman a warm actress.
I agree with you, Wildparty, and other posting their concerns here and have previously mentioned the same concerns, too. As I watched Ulla in The Producers yet another time, once again I couldn't help thinking how wrong Nicole is for that role. I shudder to think how this miscasting might affect the movie. Gee, no one will listen to us!
