Nick Cearly Cabaret...so fun!

this friday night i saw my friend, the incredibly talented Nick Cearly perform his one man cabaret show "The Most Overdone Songs EVER, A Not So New Revue" at the Duplex. First of all let me say that Nick Cearly could sing the phone book to me and that would make me happy. This revue is not just a recital of songs you've heard a million times, exactly the way you expect to hear them. What I hoped it to be was a nostalgic trip down memory lane, and what it turned out to be was so much more. Not only were there old favorites that I really enjoyed hearing with an all new arrangement, there were a few "lost favorites" that I hadn't heard in so long, that I had forgotten about. It was a really enjoyable evening, and I plan to go back. My only complaint was that there was no encore, and the short, 45-minute show left me craving much much more. Hopefully when i go back to see it in two weeks there will be an added number or two!!!
