A beautiful lady has passed.

Awwwww...the lady they invented the phrase "Classy Dame" to describe.
My heart just sank. I adored her!
She was so wonderful in An American in Paris in a very tricky and complex role. She managed to be creepy, controlling and yet sexy and vulnerable, all at the same time. Truly indelible.
*sigh*
RIP, Nina.
Pal Joey, you took the words right out of my mouth.
It really makes me want to get the new DVD of "An American in Paris" to hear what she had to say about the making of it.
Rest in Piece, Nina Foch
Didn't she play Tom Ewell's wife in "Seven Year Itch"?
No - that was Evelyn Keyes.
She was a regular fixture on TV in the 50's and 60's, when I was growing up. I also remember her as Bithia in The Ten Commandments. A really beautiful lady and I understand she was also a wonderful acting teacher for quite a few years. In face she was teaching a class when she fell ill.
I did not know until I read her obituary that she was married to James Lipton. Yes, that James Lipton!

I know it hardly even registers on her resume', but I think I'll always remember her as Frannie Halcyon in TALES OF THE CITY. The enormous depth she captured in that portrayal speaks to her consumate artistry.
Her thoughts will live on through those she taught and nurtured, but she herself will never be replaced.
THIS is a career!

Wasn't it she who uttered those famous lines in THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. "Oh, Moses, Moses!"?
May she rest in peace.

Such a fine actress. The last thing I saw her do was an episode of THE CLOSER. She gave a lovely, touching performance. The lady was never less than top notch. Updated On: 12/7/08 at 07:51 PM
