How many of you are scared to death that we have Bush in the White House for four more years.
All we are saying is give peace a chance.

Posted: 1/17/05 at 11:40amnow see, corine, i wish you would mark these threads more clearly. i came here thinking that this would contain a petition to ban all radio stations from ever again playing the overused edwin starr classic while mandating the peruvian wax for all citizens. you can imagine my disappointment. in the future i ask that you please title threads appropraitely!

I don't believe in killing. Not even Bush. But I really think he is a scary man and should not be in the White House.
But killing him is not an option. Come on Beav, you don't want that.

The world could end in the next four years. In order to plug the hole of the rapidly leaking water tower of democracy, I implore you all to follow Corine's lead!
The only way to fight this administration is through stream-of-conciousness posts with many fragmented sentences, ponderous grammar, and references to Avenue Q! Then they will see. Then the true mandate of the people will lurch forward!!!
Seriously people, get out there and post.

I have to agree with Jack and Corine.
I don't follow politics, it is boring and
they are all liars, Democrats and Republicans and
all the others.
I kind of rely on people who do keep an eye on these
sorts of things to inform me well about what's what and
what's up.
But I do know this, Charles Busch would definately make
a fantastic president & first lady.
He could have a press conference as the President and
a reporter could ask him a question about the first lady
and he could say, "Hang on a second, you can ask her
yourself" and he could run off stage right, quick change as he runs behind the curtain in the back and enter stage left
as the first lady! It would be great.
So Corine, you are right again! I bow down
to you and your knowledge!
Have you ever considered writing one of those
political logs on the internet? I would visit
it every single day and post and support you
in your political understandings.

Posted: 1/17/05 at 4:14pmThe problem with this thread and people who hate the president, any president, is that people put way too much emphasis on this position, and not enough on their state and local representatives. The president is one person, in one position. It is your representatives that make the most difference, yet almost nobody knows who they are. If you really care, get to know your reps. Not just who they are, but what they're about. Write them and tell them what you think. Vote them out if you don't like what they're doing, and vote-in someone who shares your views. Apathy toward representatives is how you have such an imbalance, today.

I just found out that one of my oldest and dearest friends is being shipped off to Baghdad in two weeks. I grew up with his wife (she's basically my sister) and I've known him since they met 20 years ago. They have two little boys and I'm terrified for them that he won't return.
Add that to my niece going into the hospital for several complications and I'm having a really bad week.
And Gotham, that was pretty crappy of you.
