As you can imagine, DC has a bumper crop of politicians. By far my favorite meetings were with Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. (Southern men are SO charming!)
oh - I just had a flashback to my (slightly) wilder youth. I was friends with a few of the Washington Redskins.
A click for life.

Lets see....
I met former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani backstage at the Metropolitan Opera several times.
I had champagne with former Mayor Ed Koch during intermission of FORBIDDEN BROADWAY this past New Year's Eve. (We were both unimpressed with the performance)
Former Islanders player Bobby Nystrom was attending the same wake I was at a few years ago and we had a nice conversation (considering the circumstances)
I've had good conversations with opera stars Beverly Sills, Placido Domingo, Kiri Te Kanawa, Kathleen Battle and Sam Ramey on numerous occasions. I also met Luciano Pavarotti, who wasn't very nice.
I shook hands with Mike Piazza on "Camera Day" at Shea Stadium about three years ago.
I had the honor of introducing former Gov. Mario Cuomo at a church function about 15 years ago.
David Letterman jogs past the home of my friends who live in Wilton, CT and he's stopped to chat while I was visiting.
I consider the Boston Pops' Keith Lockhart to be a good friend.
I don't know if I've left anyone out.

Posted: 10/17/04 at 6:32pmA few years ago I met former President Clinton and I wasn't very impressed with him. A friend noticed a small stain on my dress afterwards and really teased me about it. My most memorable encounter occured a few years ago at Carnegie Hall where I was singing with The Connecticut Hebrew Chorale. We had the honor of having author Elie Wiesel conduct some of our songs. He has always been a favorite of mine and have read most of his work. When I looked into his eyes I could see that he had survived the Holocaust.

I live in LA so I have run into SO many people but some of my favorites are:
Angelina Jolie: Nicest most kind human being out there. I just adore her.
P!NK: Another really nice person and so caring.
Paris Hilton: Really tiny and nice as can be.
Martin Sheen: He thought I was playing his daughter in a movie I had ONE line in. That was funny, but when he found out it wasn't me playing his daughter he was still just as kind.
Drew Barrymore: One of my favorites! I love her. She radiates love and peace.
Stephen Speilberg: A god among god's. Nuf said. O yeah and he was really down to earth.
Ok, I could go on and on but I will stop there. It's fun to live here in LA!

laac...did Drew hug you too? She gives the bestest hugs ever. She kissed my cheek and said I was "just the cutest thing, I've ever seen".
I don't think I stopped blushing for like a month.

Posted: 10/18/04 at 3:45amGood news Feinstein...Alexis Bledel is my dream girl, literally. Ed Norton was a great guy...I met him after the preview of "Red Dragon". I missed Anthony Hopkins, which somewhat ticked me off. Ed could tell I was looking forward to seeing Hopkins, so he stopped to chat about how fun it was working with him..and the like, for a while. A rather nice guy, very funny and joking. Quite bitterly sarcastic...something I didn't expect, but not in any way rude or unsocial.
