I'm looking to get a Master's degree in theatre, but am not an actor, director or designer. What I want to do is teach and/or write and do research. If possible, I'd like to stay on the East Coast or go to the UK, as the latter is where I'd need to do my research for a continuing degree. What are some good schools to look at for an academic theatre/theatre education MA? I've already found a handful of places (including NYU, Hunter, UMD, UMBC, CSSD). Where else is well regarded and recommended? It's hard to find somewhere that even offers an academic programme, let alone one that's willing to take students who don't have a theatre BA (mine is in History).
For a design degree, a BA in theatre is less important than experience or a major in a lot of art and/or design classes. I don't know much more than that, but I know that the kids who want to go to grad school for design from my school usually get in without a BA in theatre.
But if you kiss me,
If we touch,
Warning's fair:
I don't care
Very much
