Prayers for a good friend of mine...
I was watching the news and I see a reporter in front of my high school. A soldier I did not know, and a graduate of my high school, was recently killed in Iraq, along with 13 others. Next, a long-time bus driver of mine is on being interview...this was her son. A very strong woman fighting back tears...we used to call her the Terminator.
So, please keep this family and all of the other families who have lost loved ones in Iraq in your prayers.

Well, I will think about him.
I signed this guy's online guestbook. I wrote something like: "I did not know Daniel, but I knew his mother, a long time bus driver of mine. This tells me where he got all of his strength from: his mother. We used to call her the terminator. It takes a strong person to join the military. I could never find the courage, which is why I respect Daniel so much. God bless during this tough time."
I told my mom what I wrote, and started to cry. This is the first time I have cried since the war began. Now everytime I see his parents being interviewed on the news, my eyes begin to water. I think I will attend his funeral, to support the family.
Thanks again for your reply.

Wow, what a somber, yet supportive, mood around the my hometown. Today and tomorrow are calling hours for Nathan Deyarmin Jr., killed in Iraq a week ago. Flags along the entire road where the family lives. The circle's ("downtown") pathways are lined with white candles tonight. A police officer watching over the family's house. Every sign at a business/school mentions the family and Nate. He loved to work on cars, so his favorite car is going to be a part of his funeral procession.
I plan on attending the calling hours tomorrow and plan on showing my support as the funeral procession passes. Please keep this family and all of the other families in your prayers and/or thoughts. Thanks!
A note from his mother, posted in the obituary: We say good-bye with pride; you made us proud. "You are a Deyarmin and you can do any thing." You were a best friend to many, a son to some, a hero to all. You kept us young and made everything fun; most of all you were "My Boy," my buddy and friend. I'll miss you and love you forever until we are together again. Love, Mom.
