Not even for the birds

I bought some Westsoy unsweetened chocolate soy milk because soy milk is supposed to be so good for you...

It is disgusting! What a gross taste! Is there a brand that's any good?

I'll eat tofu plain or with shoyu, thank you.

re: Not even for the birds

unsweetened soy milk, whatever the flavor, is the devil.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

I kind of like Rice Dream, made obviously from brown rice.

But, I actually like the taste of health food. Which is probably why I eat alone so often.

Silk! But it's sweetened. That's the problem, soy milk unsweetened tastes funky.

Does it turn you upside down like it does my stomach, or is that just an avatar?

re: Not even for the birds

ugh, soy milk ranks right up there with bean sprouts and these nasty, NASTY whole grain bagels I got from the health food store that made me poop for 2 days.......

re: Not even for the birds

And how, exactly, is some Rice Dream made from rice any kind of soy milk?

Let's just keep our grains and legumes straight, such as we can tolerate them anyway.

re: Not even for the birds

I don't believe there's any soy in Rice Dream, no.

However, it's a healthy alternative to regular milk.

But whatever happened to just buying low-fat or full-fat organic milk? Unless you're lactose-intolerant, it's quite healthy. They're doing fine with it over in Europe...

This is all making me feel very carnivore.

re: Not even for the birds

I'm allergic to dairy, so I've been living on soymilk since I was very little.

I used to drink this one kind all the time... I think it was Vitasoy. I guess soymilk is a very acquired taste for many people, but this stuff was good.

Then one day, they stopped making it. (I think it's back on the market now, but it tastes different, so I've never switched back). Anyway, I was one very devastated little kid.

I tried liike six different kinds of chocolate soymilk before I could find something I liked enough to get used to, since they all taste so drastically different.

Anyway, the moral of the story is that I'd recommend trying 8th Continent (it's VERY sweet, if you like that) or Silk. You've got to go with a flavor when you buy soymilk, be it chocolate, vanilla, mocha, what the hell ever. I only use plain for like... cooking. It tastes terrible alone. Personally, I like chocolate. A lot. re: Not even for the birds

re: Not even for the birds

Well I am trying to ditch most sugar and carbos, as the goal of their lives is to try to cling to me and I won't have it.

I want one with Equal/Nutrasweet if they make it. I like it and it leaves me alone.

There's such a thing as too much togetherness.

Artificially sweetened soymilk... I can't say I've seen. re: Not even for the birds

And lemme tell ya, those soy nuts are right up there with chocolate soy milk.

They should be used for BB gun projectiles.

Yeah, they're not so fun.

Yeah, Emcee, the little round puffy ones?

I love the salt & vinegar ones but yikes they are so salty they make my mouth pucker and I can't stop until I've finished the bag.

Soy milk, made from beans, makes one odiferous
Pine cones on pine trees makes them coniferous

re: Not even for the birds

I love soy milk.
My favorite is 8 Continent. It is full of sugar, though.
I think you are better off with fat free milk, but 8th Continent is delish.
