Posted: 4/25/13 at 8:54pmThe only prob with retro stuff is, you just don't know if it has bugs, mites or whatever inside, or even embedded in the wood. I mean those upholstered couches are 60 yrs old. I would buy the one I posted, probably for a much lower price, say 1200.00, if this one aspect didn't bother me so much. Unless the antique dealer ripped it apart, rehabbed it from scratch.....etc.

I've been very lucky with the few retro pieces I've collected over the years - they were all purchased from a large consignment shop and were thus cleaned prior to being placed on the floor. I'm willing to pay a decent price for thing that have been properly refurbished - if I happen to have disposable income at the time I might be willing to look into purchasing something on the cheap then pay someone to refurb it.
