#25Goth's Usual Anti Liberal/Obama Spin is Making Me Dizzy!

It's different when a Republican is in office, after all they love America more than those Godless Dems do. Perfect example.

Mitt Romney: Let Detroit Go Bankrupt!

http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/mitt_romney_let_detroit_go_bankrupt/

How many Republicans were against Obama giving the car companies bailouts?

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2008-11-16-lameduck_N.htm

Auto makers show profits. Bailout works. Now Mitt Romney takes credit for the auto bailouts

http://www.mediaite.com/online/mitt-romney-catches-hell-for-flip-flopping-on-the-federal-bailout-for-the-auto-industry/

Obama did good with helping out the auto makers. He took a chance and it paid off.

So,it all depends who is in charge. As usual, Goth is just as unfair as the rest of the Republicans. Hypocrisy and pure hatred towards all things Obama.

I can't help remembering the response in Greece after 9-11.

I have read there was some celebrating there after the death of Bin Laden, though.

Not a good idea for the U.S. to get involved in bailing Greece out; it will not make them like us more and we have our own difficulties. Then we will be an unpaid, hated lender who will somehow be blamed for their further economic catastrophe. Their problem stems from overspending and blowing all the money they borrowed when they landed temporary luxury in the Euro and they will just continue to overspend on our buck. They were poor before they got the Euro. They don't have the cooperation of their citizens for any austerity, there are strikes against it. We cannot attempt to "correct" their behavior; they will not follow any guideline we "set" for them, they refuse to follow what the Europeans try to set for them. They have to work this one out themselves.

And, I do not give a crap about how Greece reacted after 9/11. We are not doing this to help anyone but ourselves long term.

Economic interdependence means everyone, like it or not, is connected. If Greece goes down, and the EU goes down, than the US goes down. The markets are too connected and dependent on each other to expect anything other than falling dominos

For the same reason we bailed out the auto companies, we have an interest in preventing Greece and Europe from sprialing down. The consequences on our economy are what is underlying the concern, not any great love for Greece.

Please go back and read what nomdeplume said because it is important to the discussion.

When socialist countries in Europe have a heavily unionized workforce and cradle to grave healthcare, the US shouldn't be required to bail them out. Greece is a huge tourist destination. Why can't they get their financial house in order?

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Perhaps you should go read what I read, because one has nothing to do with the other.

Your judgment about the European economic system has no bearing on the economic consequences of those economies failing on the rest of the world.

It is kind of like how no one cares about a neighbor's foreclosure, until it brings down the value of homes in the neigborhood, screws over your line of credit or loan, and then causes the bank to modify the terms of your loan because suddenly the value of your home no longer warrants the adjustible credit terms you previously had.

It is the consequences of the first instances that causes problems down the line.
