So McCain won't stop campaigning in Pennsylvania; Mrs. McCain was speaking at Gettysburg College the other day. I live in Gettysburg, and as I drove through the town square it was completely choked up by anti-abortion protesters--mostly elderly women holding "Abortion Kills", "Abortion is Death" signs. One man was holding a handwritten sign reading "A Vote for Nobama is a Vote for the Party of Death", all caps.
I guess that's mild compared with some of the incidents others have been reporting, but it depressed me no end. I was too sad and tired even to react; I just stared hard into those mean-looking faces as the traffic inched slooooowly through the square.
I ask in all honesty/What would life be?/Without a song and a dance, what are we?/So I say "Thank you for the music/For giving it to me."
