Ok...I feel bad posting another "Does anyone go here?" message because this is my second and I don't feel like getting yelled at, and some of the people on the BWW boards scare me a little...
But does anyone on this board go/went to/has experience with the Vocal Performance programs at Oberlin and San Francisco Conservatory of Music? I know they're both "good schools"- my concern is that although I ultimately do theatre, I have always been classically trained and I want to continue that way because it's given me a lot of versatility. I just want to STAY versatile and not be "classical-ized" if that makes sense.
College Board also lists both as having musical theatre as an activity even though its not a major...
The reason I'm posting here isn't because I'm a ****and I'm too lazy to just go visit the colleges and hear recitals and stuff, I live on the east coast and I don't know if I want to shell out for a plane ticket to look yet. So if someone could PM me, that'd be fantastic!!
I go to Oberlin. :)
The Vocal Performance program in the Conservatory is really excellent. The theatre program is really strong as well, although there's usually only one (student-directed) musical per year. There are other opportunities, like cabarets and acapella groups.
Um . . . yeah. I like it. Any other questions?
