How about the Anthony Newley Movie Musical " Can Heirmonius Merkin Ever Find Mercy Humpe & Find True Happiness?
I have the LP & the songs are not as bad as one might think. Would love this on CD

I've always thought it was funny that the object of Merkin's obsession was named "Mercy Humpe".
Isn't (then-wife) Joan Collins and their two children also in this?

Posted: 5/28/05 at 8:21pmI believe so & the lyrics were done by Herman Kretzmer. It was sort of soft core porn set to music. I have never seen it shown on Cable or video

It's a horrible film that just meanders along, going nowhere, and saying nothing. It thinks it's hip and swinging; but it isn't. Rotten, on every level. It gets UK air play every once in a while, although I haven't seen it in many years.

Posted: 5/28/05 at 8:29pmI've herd about the fil. I've read about the film. But I've yet to see it or hear any of the songs. I do know "Mercy Humpe" was played by a Playboy Playmate named Connie Kreski.

Class all the way.
I believe Newley, after their divorce, saying something about Collins to the effect she would sell her own bowel movements if she could make a buck on them. Major case of sour grapes

Judging from the poster for the film and what I've read Mr. Newley fancied himself "quite the ladies' man". Which makes me laugh! Looks to me that he was very full of himself!
