Yes, it's true
Past Actor of the Month winners and more info can be found here:

"Red-headed and funny, Jesse Tyler Ferguson is October’s Actor of the Month. He has a simple innocence about him that makes him hilarious to watch.
This is most apparent in William Finn’s Spelling Bee, where he plays a simple, gentle little child, outcast by his family. His big song, "I’m Not That Smart" is probably one of the best numbers in the show....."

MUNK's review of her in his LENNON review:
"I'm also glad, because this show introduced me to Marcy Harriell - someone I was previously unaware of. While a generally fine performer all around, her "Woman is the n* of the World" was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening - this girl brought tears to my eyes and had chills running up and down my spine...she was the only person in the show to completely move me."

Her "Out Tonight" was one of the most electrifying moments of theatre I have ever seen.

I LOVE Marcy Harriell too! Thanks for starting this thread BSoBW2. I was just thinking after seeing Lennon, the same thing she doesn't get the credit she deserves. That song she does in Lennon, "Woman is the N****R of the World" is showstopping, should have been a Tony.
I got a chance to see her take over for Daphne as Mimi in Rent, the girl is a star.

I never saw her as Daphne - but I can tell she is amazing!
But sitting front row for that, it's not even the way she sings WitNofW, which she sings powerfully and beautifully, it's the emotion she puts into it verbaly and facialy.
I am SO glad you created this thread because I thought that was Leah Remini (from King of Queens) in your avatar.

What role did she play in WWS? Was she Anita?

She played Maria.
"As Tony and Maria, Scott Carollo and Marcy Harriell flirt with perfection, he seducing with powerful tenor swagger, she with a maidenly soprano innocence." ~ Toronto Sun

Is it true that she is the first choice of producers to play Dorothy in the revival of The Wiz?
Isn't she a little bit too old for the role? I mean she looks to be late 20's and Dorothy is supposed to be early teens. Can Marcy pass for early teens?

Marcy looks young, I think...not that young...but hearing her sing "HOME" would be amazing.
"The only true standout in this cast is Marcy Harriell, who grabs our attention singing "Woman Is the n* of the World" and, unlikely enough, portraying Elton John." ~http://www.curtainup.com/lennon.html
"Finally, there's Marcy Harriell, the only thing about Lennon that seems to belong in a Broadway theater. She's an unstoppable burst of focused creative energy, and wakes up the show (and the audience) with her every appearance, whether as a hyperactive Elton John leaping on the piano when playing a gig with Lennon or simply writhing around onstage singing a searing, soulful rendition of "Woman Is the n* of the World."
"Harriell should play Lennon, Yoko, and everyone else; anything else is wasting our time."
"And Marcy Harriell puts over "Woman Is the n* of the World" with a rafter-rattling intensity that, while not exactly Lennonesque, certainly makes an impression."
~Ben Brantley
GO MARCY!
