Just cinematographically speaking, you must say that. I mean, seriously. Clockwork Orange seems like it was filmed five years ago, not the early '70s. And 2001 is even more remarkable when you realize that there WERE no computer effects.
i credit stanley kubrick for being a GOD just by introducing movie audiences to SUE LYON.
Kubrick is easily my favorite director.
The thing that amazes me about Kubrick is that he has a film that could be in the Top 10 of nearly every genre of film.
Sci-Fi: 2001: A Space Odyssey
Horror: The Shining
Drama: Barry Lyndon
War: Full Metal Jackett & Paths of Glory
Comedy: Dr. Strangelove, OHILTSWALTB
not to mention: Lolita, The Killing, Killer's Kiss, A Clockwork Orange. I also actually enjoyed Eyes Wide Shut quite a bit and feel it would have been phenominal if he had been able to finish it.
I'm not mentioning Spartacus because it was the only film he didn't have 100% creative control over and he didn't really classify it as a "Kubrick film".
Hell, even some parts of AI (the none Spielberg parts) didn't suck.
Some of his short films that have yet to be commercially released (and likely never will as long as Christiane Kubrick controls the rights because Stanley didn't feel they were good enough) like The Seafearers and The Last Movie were great.

One could perhaps call A Clockwork Orange a comedy.
"You know what I'd like to do with that watch? SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS! AHAHAHAHAHA!"
