The freaky thing is, I had just read Garrison Keillor's somewhat discursive defense of Al Franken in the Washington Post when I saw the news of his firing pop up as a breaking news story.

The Garrison Keillor story has me sick to the stomach. What have some people become? Unleashing their bitterness over their wasted lives by searching their memory to come up with any meetings that might be deemed “inappropriate “. Does it make them happy to destroy a life over a mildly playful incident?
