'Christian science' is ENDLESSLY entertaining. I especially enjoy the 'scientist' using the term 'raptor' in describing the dinosaurs. 'Raptor' as a dinosaur term was created by Michael Crighton for 'Jurassic Park,' it holds no scientific water beyond those movies. (Raptor IS used to describe different types of birds. Crighton's extrapolation wasn't illogical, it just wasn't remotely accurate, which it didn't need to be given that 'Jurassic Park,' much like the story of Noah, is science fiction.)

Oh. My. God. I was reading this...and rereading this..and RErereading this-- saying things like "They can NOT beleive this!"

And finally I saw the "Betty Bowers" link and remembered-- this is that hysterical parody website! Thank the merciful lord! If they were going to demand that schools teach that Noah rounded up the animals on flying dinosaurs....I don't know what I'd do!

next time John, do your research
they called them in the movie, VELOCIRAPTORS, not raptor.....which indeed is a bird. And the word velociraptor has been around for some time

velociraptor
/vilossiraptr/

• noun a small, agile carnivorous dinosaur with a large slashing claw on each foot.

— ORIGIN Latin, from velox ‘swift’ + RAPTOR.

It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story... AGATHA CHRISTIE, Life magazine, May 14, 1956

I do stand somewhat corrected: there was a velociraptor, it still bares little resemblance to the critter Crighton invented/described. Crighton's and Spielberg's creation looks more like a Deinonychus (but the head's not right,) not what scientists would call a Velociraptor.

EDIT: And, yeah, I feel REALLY silly that the site's a parody and I didn't even catch it.

Damn- I was about to bring up Landover Baptist, and it turned out that's what the link was in the first place. So accurate it's scary, huh, JohnPopa?
