I think that the ND/USC rivalry is more interesting...

As for this one?

ND-USC never means anything........I mean it's a good game and all, but rarely does it mean anything other than that....

Michigan-Ohio State is usually for the Big-10 Championship....but not this year

There is no college rivalry like OSU/Michigan, nothing even close. It's the lifeblood of football fans here in Ohio and also in Michigan and maintains the same national clout even when the teams are a little less than top tier, far more than any of the other rivalries.

Alabama/Auburn almost means as much locally but nationally no one cares about it specifically.

Florida/Florida State is probably more bitter but it really only took off nationally in the '90's when they were both top 5 teams for most of the decade.

There's a lot more football history in OSU/Michigan, two of the most storied college programs from the breadbasket of football history.

OSU-Michigan comes in at #4....Oregon-OSU outdates it by three years.....although we are number 10. Alabama-Auburn, which Sigmund JohnPoppa deems "nothing"......comes in at #3

So when they said 'Bama/Auburn was the biggest game in Alabama that differentiated from me saying it was a big deal in Alabama ... how?

Don't you put words in quotes when you're quoting someone? I never said 'Bama/Auburn meant "nothing."

'Bama/Auburn gets very little national coverage, unless of one of them is a contender. Michigan/OSU gets national TV broadcasts every year, regardless of its worth to the national championship picture.

U/M vs. OSU

and the winner is -- Michigan state police traffic enforcement.

This year will be the losers from Ohio. 6-10 miles over the border and you are done -- just like last year when your purple helmets got us.

"Alabama/Auburn almost means as much locally but nationally no one cares about it specifically." -John Popa

The "no one cares" nationally is true a good deal of the time, but "almost as much locally" I lived in Alabama for 8 years and if people are crazier about UM-OSU than the hicks are for Bama-Auburn, I am afraid to ever return to Ohio or Michigan.

People kill people over the Bama-Burn game. We Georgia fans are generally just happy to get away with Fire Hoses turned on us. re: Ohio State University Vs. Michigan

I can also say no one, down south cares about UM-OSU at all, ever.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

Carmen Ohio

Oh come let's sing Ohio's praise
And songs to Alma Mater raise
While our hearts rebounding thrill
With joy which death alone can still
Summer's heat or winter's cold
The seasons pass the years will roll
Time and change will surely show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!

These jolly days of priceless worth
By far the gladdest days on earth
Soon will pass and we not know
How dearly we love Ohio
We should strive to keep thy name
Of fair repute and spotless fame
So in college halls well grow
And love thee better ... OHIO!

Though age may dim our mem'ry's store
We'll think of happy days of yore
True to friend and frank to foe
As sturdy sons of Ohio
If on seas of care we roll
Neath blackened sky or barren shoal
Thoughts of thee bid darkness go
Dear Alma Mater...OHIO!
