Well, I'm having a bit of a performance trauma. I sang the National Anthem last month at an AHL hockey game and did really well except that my voice cracked on Red Glare(which I don't know why... I started really low but ehh) and I was upset but I was like whatever I'll do better next time. So next time rolls around(Monday) and I sounded awesome the whole time except my voice cracked again. This time I think it was because it was at my school's game, and while I wasn't nervous I wanted to impress everyone(my friends were hearing me for the first time). And since then I've been really really hung up on it and cannot seem to like... want to sing it anymore.
I'm singing it again on Friday and I really don't want to. I'm going to because I really just want to overcome this now, but I am just so discouraged by it. My voice coach/teacher told me to try and take whatever emotion I was feeling(anger, anxiety, sadness) and channel into energy for my song. And not to put so much pressure on myself.
Along with this, can any of you give me ideas of when something like this happens to you, or you just don't feel up to singing, how you overcome it?
