Watching reruns ( on American Life Station) of 77 Sunset Strip, Bourbon St Beat, Surside 6 & Maverick among others. It is a revelation they were so well written for TV shows. Many plots were very intricate & kept you guessing. Lawman has the best TV marshal bar none. John Russell stared for 4 years & than virtually disappeared. He was an amazing presence.
Warner Brothers kept reusing sets over & over. The same set that appeared in the Westerns would, from time to time, show up in 77 Sunset Strip.. They made full use of their backlot & the shows are entertaining & bring back memories
i was a sucker for the sappy shows, like OSSIE & HARRIET and LASSIE.

While not a '50's show, I have always found Dragnet to be an interesting show. You can always tell when the season was running low on budget because they would do a scene where there was a long interrogation. Also, there was a woman extra with red hair that they used over and over. She's shows up all the time. Must have been the producer's wife.
It's not Carole Cook is it? (the redhead). In the early sixties she was a constant extra on The Lucy Show then they started giving her the odd line or two.
I always wanted the guy with the sweaty hand hit the hammer on his hand instead & yell in pain
Just the facts mamn - just the facts
This is the city - Los Angeles California. I work here - I'm a cop
i liked the donna reed show...i don't think they're airing reruns anymore though
Van Williams went straight from Bourbon St Beat to Surfside 6 . In later years, he played the Green Hornet
In NYC , they are all on Channel 153 American Life TV
I love The Ann Sothern Show. It used to be on Nick at Nite about 10 years ago. I wish it was still on instead of the garbage they show on that channel now.
Burns and Allen....that was a great show!!
