Let's not forget...
"Its" = posessive form of "it"
"It's" = contraction of "it is," or "it has"

I've never understood why that one is so hard for some people to figure out.
And everyone says this figure of speech incorrectly (it really bothers me):
People say "I could care less" when they want to insult someone.
Actually it's "I COULDN'T care less." Think about it. If you "could care less" that means you still care a little, which isn't an insult. "I COULDN'T care less" is the actual insult b/c it means you don't care at all.
It's not hard yet everyone says "I could.." THAT ISN'T AN INSULT!!
Okay sorry that just really annoys me....

Oh, by the way, Ashley, while you're correct about using a conditional (if I were as opposed to If I was), it's becoming increasingly more accepted to use the latter.
But a part of my soul just died to find out the OED accepts "of" as a form of the contraction for have.

Just like the alanis morisette song - nothing in that is ironic.
How about to, too, and two.
I will give leniancy on writing to instead of too, as you may have missed the second o.

Anyone ever see the episode of Friends where Joey says "It's a moo point."
A Moo point?
"Yeah, you know - like a cow's opinion - it doesn't matter - it's MOO."
Kills me.
