What is one task that you perform or activity that you engage in during your daily life, other than using the computer, which is scientific or in some way involves science?

I test the my blood sugar level about four times a day with a meter. I adjust my insulin and food intake accordingly.

Cooking does indeed count.

The use of heat to change the nature of chemical bonds in foods, the breakdown of starches into simpler sugars, breaking and remaking protein bonds, the release of aromatics due to chemical reactions between your ingredients, etc., is all scientific.

Interestingly, cooking can be science and can also be one of the fine arts.

I'm not sure about gargling, but flossing seems scientific.

Driving a car, making ice in a refrigerator, testing blood sugar and adjusting insulin are certainly practical uses of science.

Doing your science homework is edgy, can you use anything you've learned in class in your daily life?

Falling on your bum due to gravity, doodlenyc, I am not sure, unless you intended it. How did you mean to use the gravitational pull?

Law can be or incorporate science and I think Socratic inquiry is in the scientific vein.

And kissmycookie, since you engage in science in your work, perhaps you will tell us something scientific you do outside of work at home or play...

A few years ago we studied weather, and for a while I was really good at figuring out cloud thingies and figuring out the weather.

Also I can actually understand all of the charts/graphs used on weather reports.

i cook and i use all kind of substitutions beacuse of my food allergies... like depending on what i'm mkaing i have to use a different ratio of egg replacement powder and water to make an "egg"
