For those of you who grew up watching the old B&W Mickey Mouse Club, either first-run or in reruns like me, this made my heart sink.
Cheryl Holdridge died on Jan. 5th, at the age of 64, from lung cancer. As a mouseketeer, she was second in popularity (and fan mail) only to Annette.
After her Mickey Mouse Club days, she also guest-starred on many TV shows, including a 2-year stint as Wally Cleaver's girlfriend on Leave It To Beaver.
But what I never knew was that she was married to Lance Reventlow, Barbara Hutton's son, from 1964 (when she retired from acting) until his death from a plane crash in 1972.
Cheryl was known for her smile. There's a big article in today's L.A. Times with very nice photos.
"Jaws is the Citizen Kane of movies."
