Rathnait62, I was scrolling the list looking for exactly that!
Though I think Barbra should be on there for FUNNY GIRL. Oh well.
Happy about John Cameron Mitchell though.

50. Heath Ledger, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN
I didn't see this movie. Was he that good that he should come before such great performances as Judy Garland, Meryl Streep, and Gregory Peck turned out?
#15re: OscarWatch's 100 Favorite Performances
Posted: 9/16/06 at 11:23pmmaybe the list is not meant to be ordered from best to least-best, even though it is numbered.
#16re: OscarWatch's 100 Favorite Performances
Posted: 9/16/06 at 11:47pmThat list is about "favorite" performances, not the "best" ones. There's a difference.

Keep in mind that this isn't a ranking of BEST performances, but FAVORITE.
So although Dunaway was deplorably hilarious in MOMMIE DEAREST, she's definitely a favorite.
There are about 6 numbers missing from that list, as there was an error on the website.
Barbra belongs up there.
And I don't think Meryl STreep should be up there for Adaptation.

totally agree with LIZ in WOOLF. as good as BURTON's performance was in that movie, it's considered "favorite" over LIZ?? i think not.

Posted: 9/17/06 at 1:12pmIt should be mentioned that there is no Cate Blanchett. Which is sort of unforgivable.
