Hello all,
Thank you for all of the kind words of support. I really appreciate it.
What I didn't get a chance to explain last night was that just as I got home from work last night, I got a call from my mother that her only sister Lois, my favorite aunt, had passed away. While she has had some health problems for the past few years, the news was very sudden and out of the blue. Aunt Lois was the warmest, funniest (and craziest) of my relatives and was closer to me than anyone else in my family other than my parents and siblings. She babysat me often as a child, was there for all of the holidays, birthdays and graduations and was a consant source of affection (and amusement) for my entire life. I'll miss her.
As I was speaking with my mother about Lois and the details of her death, comforting her, discussing the funeral plans for Saturday (including being informed that I had been chosen to speak for the family and have to give the eulogy) I just happened to turn on my computer. Still on the phone, I glanced at my email and then I went to BWW as I was getting all of the gory details of my aunt's final hours. I saw Jose's thread and sorry, I flipped.
In my frame of mind at the time, I was at a loss to understand why a board moderator had decided to "call me out" for absolutely no reason. I've rarely ever conversed with Jose on this site, let alone insulted him (or anyone) or given any reason for him to be disrespectful to me in any way. That is why I said (and MEANT) that if this was the way I was going to be treated by those who run this site, I could certainly find other places which would treat me with the respect I felt that I had earned and where I wouldn't be insulted unprovoked.
I see that Jose has apologized, so I consider this matter entirely closed.
Wish me luck with what promises to be a hectic and emotional weekend what with the relatives flying in from all over, my mother dealing with her sister's premature passing, and my having to give a speech on short notice. I won't be on the board much if at all in the next few days, but I'll speak to you all next week.
Thanks so much again for all of the lovely thoughts.
Margo
